Cryptocoryne moehlmannii de Wit

An inflorescence of C. moehlmannii. This form is collected near Sasok in Western Sumatra. The coastal area of West Sumatra has two close related species: Cryptocoryne pontederiifolia and C. moehlmannii. Both are good aquarium plants. Even in emersed culture they can hardly be distinguished without inflorescence. See the other page on C. pontederiifolia.

The plant is named in honour to Friedrich Möhlmann (1920-1991), an excellent grower of Cryptocoryne.
