It was a surprise in 2009, when a cordata-like plant was found near Rompin, Pahang, peninsula Malaysia with the spathe of a nurii. As usual, the plant must be cultivated to obtain fresh material for further investigation. It turned out that the pollen has a reduced fertility and one might think to deal with a hybrid between these two species.
